Purpose

At Titans Pet UK, ensuring the authenticity, trustworthiness, and security of all members of our online community and platform users is our ultimate preference. This User Verification Policy outlines the steps, requirements, and terms under which user accounts (individuals, breeders/businesses, and veterinarians) are verified before posting listings, offering services, or interacting with others.

Our verification system is designed to:

  • Prevent fraud and impersonation
  • Ensure legal and ethical compliance (including Lucy’s Law and DEFRA guidance)
  • protect buyers, sellers, and animals involved

 

Why Verification is Important:

  • Posting live pet or animal listings
  • Offering veterinary or pet care services
  • Listing accessories, pet food, or commercial products
  • Creating a breeder or veterinary account
  • Accessing premium advertising options or Boost Plans

 

Types of Accounts & Required Verification Documents

a. Individual (Standard Account / Exclusive User)

Minimum Required:

  • Full Name
  • Valid UK Mobile Number (OTP-verified)
  • Valid Email Address
  • Location/Postcode

Optional:

  • Profile Picture
  • Government-issued ID (optional but may be requested for flagged listings)

b. Breeder/Business Account

Required Documents:

  • Business or Trading Name
  • Breeder’s License issued by the local council
  • Government-issued & verified ID
  • Proof of Address
  • Website or Social Media Handle (for vetting, if available)
  • VAT registration (if applicable)

Note: Listing puppies for sale requires license verification, and puppies must be visible to their mother (Lucy’s Law). Any listing violating this will be suspended immediately.

c. Veterinary/Professional Services Account

Required Documents:

  • Full Name of Practitioner
  • RCVS Registration Number (UK Veterinary Licence)
  • Valid ID (passport or UK driver’s License)
  • Proof of Business Address (e.g., vet clinic invoice or letterhead)
  • Qualifications (degree certificate optional but encouraged)

 

Stepwise Verification Process 

Signup & Basic Details

  • User selects the account type
  • Submits email, phone, location

Upload of Verification Documents

  • Upload form appears based on account type
  • Uploaded documents are encrypted & stored securely (GDPR-compliant)

Manual Review by Titans Pet Team

  • Documents reviewed within 24–48 hours
  • Additional clarification may be requested

Verification Badge Issued

  • Verified users receive a green check mark or “Verified Seller” tag
  • Breeders get a blue badge, vets a gold badge

Live Listing Activation

  • Only verified users can post or boost listings

 

Reverification & Monitoring

  • Users may be reverified if identified for questionable & suspicious activity
  • Titans Pet UK conducts random audits of listings and accounts

Re-verification will also occur:

  • Upon the expiry of breeder licenses
  • If contact info is updated
  • If fraud or misrepresentation is suspected

 

Refusal, Suspension & Appeal

Titans Pet UK reserves the right to:

  • Deny verification for falsified or unclear documents
  • Suspend accounts pending investigation
  • Remove listings that bypass the verification process

Appeal Process:

Users can appeal verification denials by contacting info@titanspet.co.uk with supporting evidence. Our support and client communication team will answer within the duration of three working days.

 

Data Protection and GDPR Compliance

All personal data and verification documents are handled under strict GDPR and UK data protection regulations. We:

  • Use secure encryption and storage methods
  • Never communicate your confidential documents with any third parties if not obligated by the law
  • Allow you to request the deletion of verification data via our DSAR process

 

Reporting Suspicious Accounts

Users are encouraged to report:

  • Fake listings
  • Unverified sellers requesting payment
  • Any attempt to bypass Titans Pet UK’s safe policies

Updates to This Policy

This policy is reviewed periodically. Users will be notified and informed of all updates and modifications on the platform and via email.
