At Titans Pet UK, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe, ethical, and trustworthy online pet marketplace. This Moderation & Reporting Policy explains how we review user-generated content, handle complaints, and uphold platform standards to prevent scams, abuse, or misuse of our services.

  • Any content posted: On the Titans Pet UK website, iOS/Android apps, and affiliated social media channels
  • Listings: Pets, accessories, services, and events

Moderation Overview

Titans Pet UK uses a hybrid moderation system:

  • Automated moderation tools: Detect and flag suspicious content such as scams, prohibited words, and repetitive ads.
  • Human moderators: Manually review flagged content, user reports, and ad submissions for accuracy, safety, and compliance with our Community Guidelines.
All listings are manually approved by our moderation team before being made live to ensure:
  • Accuracy of listing details
  • Ethical and legal compliance
  • No misleading, abusive, or exploitative content

What We Moderate

Content that is reviewed includes:

  • Pet listings: Descriptions, images, and videos
  • Accessory and product ads
  • Veterinary and service provider listings
  • User profile information: Bios, usernames, images
  • Messages or comments: Within the app (if applicable)
  • Event promotions
We ensure that all content:
  • Complies with UK animal welfare laws, including Lucy's Law
  • Does not violate GDPR, advertising, or data protection regulations
  • Reflects ethical and responsible pet ownership and trading

What's Not Allowed (Examples)

Listings and content will be rejected or removed if they contain:

  • Sale of underage pets (under 8 weeks)
  • Use of stock, misleading, or watermarked images
  • Descriptions implying illegal trade or aggressive marketing (e.g., fighting breeds)
  • Unverified breeder claims (e.g., "KC registered" without proper documentation)
  • Listings with no pet availability or false location
  • Duplicate or recycled ads without significant changes
  • Inappropriate, hateful, or discriminatory language

Reporting Content – For Users

If you come across something suspicious or inappropriate, you can report it via:

What Happens After a Report?

Once the reported request is submitted:

  • Acknowledgment: You will be notified of verification that your requested report is under review.
  • Review: Our moderation and analysis team will inspect the reported ad and account.
  • Action Taken: Based on the severity, actions may include:
    • No action (if the report is unfounded)
    • A warning issued to the user
    • Content removal or account suspension
    • Permanent account ban for severe violations
  • Follow-Up (Optional): If necessary, we may contact you for further clarification.

Repeat Offenders & Policy Violators

Users who violate moderation rules may face the following:

  • Content rejection or deactivation
  • Temporary suspension from the platform
  • Permanent ban without refund for paid services
  • Legal reporting where appropriate (e.g., for animal abuse or fraud)

False or Abusive Reporting

False or malicious use of the reporting system is not tolerated. Users who repeatedly misuse the report function may:

  • Be warned
  • Lose access to reporting tools
  • Face account suspension

Updates & Revisions

Titans Pet UK reserves the right to revise this policy and related documents as required in obedience to the following:

  • Changes in UK law (e.g., breeding regulations)
  • Platform improvements or feature updates
  • Feedback from users and moderators
